Wholesale Jewelry The Online Market And Califonia Proposition 65
I was looking for wholesale jewelry on the internet recently and I came across a website that had a California proposition 65 warning. It stated the warning was in compliance with the proposition requirement and that some of their items might have lead in them. And that some of their jewelry might have chemicals that may cause cancer or reproductive harm like birth defects.
The site warned to wash your hands after handling the jewelry and to keep it away from infants and small children. And by the way think twice before eating or sucking on the jewelry. You do not want to have something than might cause cancer in your mouth. Now I do not wear jewelry myself, I was looking for gifts.
But I am not sure I want to give a gift that needs such a warning. When I give it to someone as a gift do make sure they read the proposition 65 warning. Do I have to make sure to tell them to wash their hands after handling my gift; and what if they have children? Do I have to tell them not to let their kids handle my gift?
Now if I buy Arizona jewelry am I off the hook? Does this mean that Arizona jewelrey does not cause cancer or does it mean jewelry sellers do not have to care about the health of their customers? It probably means they can warn if they want to but do not have to by law. Now jewelry is jewelry in all the states and all the world.
Do you pay attention when you read these cancer causing agents warnings? If I gave you a necklace with a proposition 65 tag would you refuse the gift, if you liked it? You would probably wear it. Or would you now be one of those people who goes around warning people wearing jewelry that they might be in danger? There is nothing wrong with caring about other people of course.
How do agents cause cancer anyway? Does the state of California have a test of jewelry causing cancer results. And what about other states. Do they simply not believe California's results. Or do they believe them and figure let their people find out the hard way that jewelry makes them sick.
Lead has been part of the jewelry making process for a long time. Has anyone gotten sick with wearing lead around their neck or their finger or on their ears? Who can really say? But if it was not for California proposition 65 probably most people who buy and wear jewelry would not give it a second thought. But at least with this proposition people in California at least can decide for themselves if they want to wear jewelry that comes with a label suggesting you wash your hands after handling it.
If you are considering giving jewelry as a present you can make up your mind if you want to tell the person about the proposition 65 warnings. Or you can simply point out the tag if it has one. And I might not have been able to make this choice if I had not gone online looking for wholesale jewelry and reading about proposition 65.
I was searching for Wholesale Jewelry and Wholesale handbags on the web recently and I came across a website that had a California proposition 65 warning. It stated the warning was in accordance with the proposition requirement.
